Southern Arizona Lutheran Via de Cristo

We are affiliated with the National Lutheran Secretariat of Via de Cristo, which includes many communities similar to SALVdC throughout the U.S. and in several foreign countries.

VIA de CRISTO is based on the fundamentals of Christianity, concentrating on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. The focus is not on VIA de CRISTO itself, but on the local church. The objective of the movement is to inspire, challenge and equip local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches and communities.

A VIA de CRISTO is:

  • an opportunity to grow in faith and in spirituality
  • a deeper understanding of the teachings of Jesus and how we can serve Him.
  • an experience of living and sharing with others in a loving and caring Christian community and realizing that this can be extended into our own environment
  • a continuing community that gives support and encouragement empowering the renewed Christians to persevere in carrying out their Baptismal vows
